Google and where is that update

It seems that Google has hit a road block in their development of app for their own operating system. It has bee a while since a Google Inc. app has had an update to it for Android but, looking at IOS there are tons of updates to the appearance and layouts and some apps that aren't available to android yet.
Why is it that Google is slacking at their own programs. It is unfair to the google fanatics that no longer buy from the fruity giant. Thing that upset me personally are things like page breaks are not supported in Drive for Android but on the IOS it is. Gmail is much more visually appealing on IOS and the loading animation is way nicer than the ring of death on the Android, this goes for Google+ as well. Blogger is the same on both systems. I have sent emails to their suggestion box on this type of things and also posted this in my reviews of their apps. I know about the differences because I still have an iPod from before the release of Android. I do not enjoy the apple devices as much as I do samsung, LG and other manufacturers and also the price competition that they create but it would be great to update the apps to fit the updated phones and tablets.
Along with that I also noticed that Jellybean has lived out longer than the other versions of android. Which is good that they have reached a place where they aren't changing the entire operating system every quarter but with this we still want and need to have the apps updated. I do not think it will be long before people start switching over to Apple. I will hold out as long as possible but it isn't going to be long. My main reason for not going to IOS is that I really do hate the devices. They are over priced and limit the user to what can be done for example: Widgets aren't there and I like them as a short cut, No app drawer so the home screen gets cluttered and not all apps can be foldered, and finally there it the auto rotation where half the time you cant use a desk cradle on your desk because the home screen only van be viewed in portrait.
This is why I'm starting to hate Android and Apple all at the same time. The users are being neglected

P.S the hard keys break way to easily on apple products.
