Gardening again

Since this is the first year in almost a decade that I am not working at the summer camp and my roommate didn't have a garden in his yard I decided to install one in the dead corner or the yard. He thinks that the corner was were the previous owner had a swimming pool which would probably explain why nothing seemed to have been growing there.

Unfortunately I didn't take a pic of the yard before I put in the edgeing and the mulch but oops, some things should be left forgotten.

Why Do We Need a Livingroom, Conservatory, or Lounge?

Recently my housemate had gotten around with a friend to firm up the ceiling in the living room as there was something wrong with it that made the floor upstairs creek more than is expected in an older house. They did some nice work with adding new beams but in order to work in there properly they had to remove all the furniture and place it all in the dining room.

Blackberry Priv: the hunt for the physical keyboard

Recently i did a post about the Blackberry Classic which runs the Blackberry10 operating system and I do believe that the phone is utterly dead and a expensive paperweight. I have been looking at the Blackberry Priv which is currently the only modern Android cell phone that has a physical keyboard.

it is common knowledge that the Priv isn't selling that well and I think that the problem is brand recognition and that the company has not done anything to really inform the public that blackberry is still a primo and not obselete choice in the smart phone market.

Blackberry 10 One Month of Thoughts

As many have said before BB10 is essentially dead and gone just like Palms WebOS.

My roommate let me barrow his old work phone the BlackBerry Classic so that I didn't have to swap my Verizon sim from my families plan with my Project Fi sim in and out of my Nexus 5x. My first week with it I. Noticed that the bbworld app store looked a little sparse of official native apps from Google, facebook, instagram and other popular and commonly used apps. However there were tons of options to choose from for paid third party developers that looked sketchy at best. I will say is that I have never had any sort of BlackBerry before and the ecosystem of BlackBerry apps had much to be desired and was informed I could do other apk files from android on it. Only problem was the ones I needed such as Hangouts to access my project fi account were not supported due to the dependency on play services.

My only issue was app support on BlackBerry was and is dieing off. I did see in an article that the latest app to stop BlackBerry support is whatsapp messenger will be ending it's support later this month.

The one feature that I was excited to use again on any sort of device was the physical keyboard. It took me a long time to say goodbye to it when I had no more boarded options from the Verizon store at home and I needed a new phone. Typing on it is so much faster that using the swipe keyboard on the android though it took me a bit of time to retrain my hands to type again. The only drawback is that it is a two handed type on BlackBerry keyboard and I can't walk have a coffee and type on the same time #americanprobs.

I do hope that the BlackBerry Priv takes off because I would love to have a phone with a physical keyboard again and who knows maybe there is a chance that other makers will go back to it. (I still try to use my old android phone with keyboard when I can).

PS on the crack berry forums I did find a pc program that allows you to patch any android app including hangouts, inbox and other play services dependant apps. It will take a bit to set up but getting apps are a breeze after.

Back in Black

As some of you may know I work at a Boy Scout summer camp in NH and this was my seventh season at the property. I am backc from that and have had a lot of character developing moments brought to many of the North East Region's youth and to myself. It is always a humbling experience to be apart of such a movement that has had a few character developing moments of its own with the change in membership policy but that is not what the post is about. I am sad that the summer is drawing to a close, Happy with how it went and nervous with the next chaper that is commonly reffered to a "Real Life"

I am more overwhelmed than any other emotion because of just how much stress there is to moving. I do not have any idea of what to start with. Do I go with apartment shopping first or complete the job hunt? Then there is the whole change of adress that is pretty spelled out by the state and DMV but it is the first part that is concerning me above all else. I'll be consulting my parents on the matter but till then I'll just have to hold my breath, sit on the couch with a bottle of wine and watch some 90's Brittish comedies on Netflix.

Galaxy Note 4 Release

I'm looking forward to October 17th when the new edition of the note is released into the US market. I am not going to be getting a new phone as I am not on a plan that allows me to get a new phone every year and I am perfectly happy with my current phone. What I am looking forward to is with my phone becoming outdated that means that the expensive accessories that I have been eyeing will now become much cheaper. So I will be able to justify the price of a S View Charging case. Yay $30 instead of $70 that's something that I would pay.

Sibling life.

There is always some kind of tension between siblings and when there isn't it usually doesn't take long for some to arise. My frustrations havent been aired out to her because when I do it is an all out fight between us and I don't feel like picking a fight today. Let me start out with what has been bothering me.
1) She never cleans out her messes in the bathroom : This is always a complaint that men have with women because it is just gross when it starts to clog the drain and when it gets all over the sink and onto your shaving stuff. Also when I ask her if she could clean out her hair and also why she needs 3 of the same shampoo on the bathtub shelf that I keep knocking over I am inconviencing her completely. If I have to put the seat down and also take out my PJs in the morning she can meet me half way.
2) Dishes: She rarely empties and cleans out the dishwasher. If the machiene is full and she needs something then she just pulls out the spoon or what ever and leaves the rest in it while the sink fills up. I always empty the thing thing cause i hate hearing dad yell about it.
3) The Car: The car broke down when I was driving it and that was the last thing that we needed to happen to it in order to justify buying a new one. Currently the family is in the market for a new one. We don't even own the thing and already she is claiming and committing our car to things that make it impossible for me to drive it. I can use my mothers car but that means that I have to drive to drop her off and pick her up. She already has the thing committed to a week long engagement when someone else could use a car that they don't share. She does not consider what the other half thinks or how it will affect them. This scares me because she is going into management.
I know that this sounds like a role reversal for  a brother and sister but she is older and way more dominating and I am younger and apparently according to her the spoiled younger one. When I try to confront her of be a little more dominant she goes all ballistic and uses her womanly issues on me. I liked it better when she went to a different school than me. She used to go to a school in Connecticut and I in Boston. It was great i could do things without her judgement on everything. She will say that she doesn't care but her tone says she does, as if how I act embarrasses her to be related to me. She should have thought of this crap before she came  here.
Oh and another thing she corrects my grammar and will do it in front of friends and other people. If it bothers her that much then she should become a teacher than an accountant. I usually say "yes Hiasynth" and that shuts her up.
There is no space between us and it's killing me.

Google and where is that update

It seems that Google has hit a road block in their development of app for their own operating system. It has bee a while since a Google Inc. app has had an update to it for Android but, looking at IOS there are tons of updates to the appearance and layouts and some apps that aren't available to android yet.
Why is it that Google is slacking at their own programs. It is unfair to the google fanatics that no longer buy from the fruity giant. Thing that upset me personally are things like page breaks are not supported in Drive for Android but on the IOS it is. Gmail is much more visually appealing on IOS and the loading animation is way nicer than the ring of death on the Android, this goes for Google+ as well. Blogger is the same on both systems. I have sent emails to their suggestion box on this type of things and also posted this in my reviews of their apps. I know about the differences because I still have an iPod from before the release of Android. I do not enjoy the apple devices as much as I do samsung, LG and other manufacturers and also the price competition that they create but it would be great to update the apps to fit the updated phones and tablets.
Along with that I also noticed that Jellybean has lived out longer than the other versions of android. Which is good that they have reached a place where they aren't changing the entire operating system every quarter but with this we still want and need to have the apps updated. I do not think it will be long before people start switching over to Apple. I will hold out as long as possible but it isn't going to be long. My main reason for not going to IOS is that I really do hate the devices. They are over priced and limit the user to what can be done for example: Widgets aren't there and I like them as a short cut, No app drawer so the home screen gets cluttered and not all apps can be foldered, and finally there it the auto rotation where half the time you cant use a desk cradle on your desk because the home screen only van be viewed in portrait.
This is why I'm starting to hate Android and Apple all at the same time. The users are being neglected

P.S the hard keys break way to easily on apple products.

What is this update?

This is interesting that after 10 months my tablet finally has an update and I don't think that I am a huge fan of it as of yet because there hasn't been enough time to get used to it. My biggest thing right now is the keyboard as I just got used to the keyboard and now i have to relearn how to use it again.
